Join in a statewide adventure as you plan to search for Gru's Treasure by deciphering clues that will be shared with you when the "hunt" begins! Number of Treasure Hunters is limited to 1,000 people per hunt. Reserve your spot now by joining Gru's Pack to get in on the fun, learn more about the state, (and help support animal shelters) and you may find yourself $10,000 richer! Counties included in this hunt: Volusia,Marion,Levy,Gilchrist,Flagler,Putnam,Alachua,Bradford,Dixie,Taylor,Lafayette,Suwannee,Columbia,Jackson,Washington,Bay,Holmes,Walton,Okaloosa,Santa Rosa,Escambia,Union,Baker,Clay,St. Johns,Duval,Nassau,Hamilton,Madison,Jefferson,Leon,Wakulla,Franklin,Gulf,Liberty,Gadsden, and Calhoun.

Gru's Treasure Hunts are scheduled when all 1,000 tickets have been sold - you will be contacted by email with details prior to the date of the Treasure Hunt.


Every Treasure Hunt helps save Pets!

So how does it all work?

1.     Purchase a Treasure Hunt for your state (click on a state on the map or scroll through list)

2.     Once each individual state is sold out – email will be sent with the date the hunt will take place

3.     The week the hunt begins in your state you will get a reminder email with further instructions on where to go to see the clue for your treasure hunt

4.     Each hunt will begin on a Saturday – clue will be delivered at 10 am local time

5.     Solve the clue, find the treasure, and YOU WIN*!

6.     Treasure is a small dog tag with ‘Gru’s Treasure’ on one side and special “treasure number” and ‘phone number’ on the other

7.     *Once you have called in and validated the treasure you will receive a $5,000 by Cashier’s Check sent to you via FedEx

8.     If the Treasure is not found by Sunday morning -at 10 am a new clue will be provided to the team  - same for each day until the Treasure is found

The Jacksonville Humane Society has served our community since 1885. JHS became a no-kill shelter in 2005 and our city achieved no-kill status in 2014. In addition to finding loving families for more than 9,000 homeless dogs and cats each year, JHS offers a wide variety of health and human services for families. JHS has a robust pet safety net program that keeps pets and people together in times of crisis, which serves more than 3,000 families each year. This includes our veterinary services division, which provides affordable veterinary care to low-income families and performs community outreach to underserved areas of our city. JHS also has a thriving humane education program for children and adults of all ages. JHS is proud to serve pets and the people who love them.

We are proud to provide the community with pet adoption, humane education opportunities and resources for pets and people in need. The mission of the Jacksonville Humane Society is to provide comfort, care, and compassion to the homeless animals in Jacksonville while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community. JHS strives to be a resource for both pets and their owners. In 2019, the Jacksonville Humane Society took in 8,916 dogs and cats, and accomplished the following:
  • Found new homes for 7,325 pets
  • Performed 7,751 spay/neuter surgeries
  • Provided resources for pets to 3,463 low-income families
  • Served 1,699 children via our humane education programs
  • Gave 162,383 pounds of pet food to families in need
